Cheng Jung Machinery was founded in 1982 with total capital of NTD 1 million and factory size of 990 m2 to primary engage in the manufacturing of paper making machines (other products incl.: toilet paper packing machine, sealer, vacuum pump, etc.). The company started off with 8-10 employees, with annual turnover of around NTD 7-10 million, and maintained a household management mode of operation.

In 1999, Cheng Jung Machinery improved upon the mechanism and colors of treadmills, altering the traditional black, white and red. Ever since, Cheng Jung Machinery has dedicated its efforts to the development of treadmills and continuing its policy of innovation and quality improvement.

In 2000, the company’s total capital had increased to NTD 16 million and the number of employees increased to 40-50 people. Annual turnover was significantly raised to NTD 150-180 million. Our mainstream clients can be found in Japan (JUSCO, REGENT, etc.) and Europe (ACTOR, INTERSPORT, OTTO, etc.).

In 2001, DECATHLON (France) contacted Cheng Jung Machinery for the first time to purchase the S01 treadmill (ST1000). In the same year, Cheng Jung Machinery used its self-owned magnetron system to independently develop the SB01 Magnetron Spinning Bike, which transformed the Spinning Bike market that originally used brake shoes as the resistance system. This product has successfully registered multinational patents (EU, US, China and Taiwan) and has been certified by TUV. 5.
In the same year, Cheng Jung Machinery entered into purchasing contracts with CARE (France) and ATALA (Italy).

Also in the same year, its subsidiary, Taiwan Fluid Control & Application Company, Ltd. was founded with capital of NTD 5 million and 20-25 employees. It specializes in producing oil damper and gas spring. The land and building of the subsidiary were both owned by Cheng Jung Machinery. The company is shooting for control of the oil damper market and continues to improve the quality of oil dampers.
